Privacy policy

How we collect and use your personal data. Last updated October 2026.

DRAFT for solicitor review before go-live.

Who we are

Clear Sky Energy Ltd (company no. 802283), registered office Acontha, Durrow, Tullamore, Co. Offaly R35 VX82, trading from High Street, Tullamore, is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at info@clearskyenergy.ie or 057 937 4247.

What we collect

  • Enquiries and survey requests: your name, phone, email, Eircode, what you’re interested in, and anything you tell us.
  • Calculator answers, if you send them with an enquiry: county, roof direction, bill or usage, battery and EV choices, and your grant answer (including whether you get a qualifying social welfare payment). We use the grant answer only to check which SEAI grant may apply.
  • Customers: the details needed to survey, quote, install and support your system, including your MPRN and the information SEAI and ESB Networks require.
  • Fault reports: what you tell us about your system.
  • Job applicants: your CV and contact details.
  • Website use: only if you accept analytics or advertising cookies (see our cookie policy).

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a survey: steps you ask us to take before a contract.
  • To install and support your system, and handle grant and grid paperwork: performing our contract with you, and legal obligations.
  • To send occasional grant and offer updates: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To measure our website and advertising: only with your consent to cookies.
  • To keep records for tax and company law: legal obligation.

Who we share it with

SEAI and ESB Networks (for grants and grid connection), our BER assessor, our installers and subcontractors, our IT, hosting, email and customer-system providers, and, with your consent, Google and Meta for website and ad measurement. Some providers may process data outside the EEA under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t go ahead: up to 24 months after our last contact. Customer records: for as long as needed for warranties, grants and the law. Applications: 12 months unless you agree to longer.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time, by emailing info@clearskyenergy.ie. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

Messages on social media
