Solar for your business, with up to 45% from SEAI
For new applications made by 6 July 2027, SEAI pays up to 45% of the cost of solar for businesses, to a maximum of €325,200.
Why solar suits most businesses
You use most of your electricity in daylight, which is when the panels make it. So more of the solar is used on site at your full unit rate, and payback is usually faster than at home.
The SEAI grant
| System size | Grant |
|---|---|
| 1 kWp / 2 kWp / 3 kWp | €1,800 / €3,600 / €4,200 |
| 4 to 6 kWp | €4,800 |
| 7 to 20 kWp | + €600 per kWp |
| 21 to 200 kWp | + €400 per kWp |
| 201 to 1,000 kWp | + €300 per kWp |
SEAI pays the lower of the banded figure and 45% of the invoiced cost, up to €325,200. For example, a 50 kWp system is €25,200 on the bands; on a €50,000 invoice, 45% is €22,500, so €22,500 is paid. Checked on seai.ie, 13 October 2026.
The Accelerated Capital Allowance
Companies can write off 100% of the cost of solar equipment on SEAI’s Triple E register in the first year, instead of over eight years. The scheme runs to the end of 2030. How much it’s worth depends on your tax position.
Grants over €10,000 in a year need a Tax Clearance Certificate.
